Body Recovered Near Marin County Beach Identified, Officials Say

MARIN COUNTY, CA — The coroner's office identified a man Wednesday found dead near the rocks at Rodeo Beach a week ago, officials said.

The Marin County Sheriff’s identified the man as Michael Young Han, 57, of Roseville.

Fire personnel responded around 9:14 a.m. on Sept. 16 after receiving a report of an unresponsive person at the north end of the beach, according to the Southern Marin Fire District.

Because the person was near the water, marine and aviation resources were requested or considered during the response.

Fire personnel reached the individual and confirmed the person was dead. The body was recovered by Fireboat Liberty and transported to Golden Gate Station.

A helicopter response was later canceled, and custody of the individual was transferred to U.S. Park Police.

All emergency resources cleared the scene around 11:04 a.m.

U.S. Park Police are investigating. No additional information was available.
