Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to determine the fire spread to the attic. Crews extinguished the blaze with a hose line, preventing further spread through the building, officials said. Crews also cut holes in the ceiling and walls to ensure flames were fully extinguished.

No injuries were reported, but 11 residents from two units were displaced by damage from the fire, smoke and water, according to the department. The American Red Cross arranged temporary housing for the six adults and five children.
