Multi-Car Crash Slows I-125 Toward Murrieta

The I-215 was slow and go for about an hour as emergency responders attended to crash victims Friday morning.

MENIFEE, CA — The I-215 Freeway Southbound was slowed Friday morning due to a multi-car collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Shortly after 8 a.m., an SUV, sedan, and semi-truck collided for as-yet-unidentified reasons just north of Newport Road, according to CHP dispatch operators. Vehicles and debris from the initial crash blocked three lanes of southbound travel, according to reports.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene to attend to the crash victims as tow trucks were called to clear disabled vehicles.

The semi-truck driver reported whiplash from the incident and at least one vehicle was considered a total loss. The crash blocked southbound lanes on I-215 for about an hour.

Menifee Police also attended the scene as the vehicles were moved to the right-hand side of the roadway.

No other information on injuries or the cause of the crash was immediately available. Drivers should use caution when heading through this area.
