Murrieta Public Library Closed Through Aug. 2, Upgrades Underway
The library, located at 8 Town Square, will reopen on Monday, Aug. 3.
MURRIETA, CA — As part of an ongoing expansion project, the Murrieta Public Library is temporarily closed July 20-Aug 2.
During the two-week closure, crews from RC Construction and partner contractors will install new carpeting and flooring inside the building. Work will also include concrete repairs surrounding the exterior, affecting both public entrances and the parking lot.
All in-person services, physical programming, and book drops will be unavailable while construction is underway. Library officials advised patrons not to return items to the facility during the closure period.
Digital services will remain fully operational. Community members can access eBooks, eAudiobooks, online databases, and other electronic materials 24 hours a day at murrietalibrary.info.

The ongoing $8 million library expansion project includes enlarging the Children's Library by 4,500 feet for learning, creativity, and play.
With funding from the California State Library, library development impact fees, Measure T, and community donations, the expansion will bring the children’s area to over 7,200 square feet.
Construction began last September and is expected to be completed in Fall 2026.
