Unusual Baby Gull Rescue For Napa Firefighters

Napa fire crews freed a baby gull whose hooked foot caught on a light fixture.

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Napa firefighters rescued a juvenile gull after a fishhook embedded in its foot caught on a parking lot light fixture, leaving the bird unable to free itself.

Crews responded to the unusual call, safely reached the gull, and discovered the hook in its foot. They carefully freed the bird and brought it safely to the ground.

Napa County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control took possession of the gull and transported it to a local wildlife rescue center for further evaluation and treatment.
