2 Injured, 13 Displaced When Car Carrier Crashes Into Apartment Building: Officials

PANORAMA CITY, CA — A car carrier crashed into a two-story apartment building in Panorama City this past week, officials said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the building at 8935 Van Nuys Blvd., where firefighters secured the scene and Urban Search and Rescue and Heavy Rescue crews worked to remove the vehicle transporter from the building. The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety evaluated the structure to determine whether it remained stable.

Two people were transported to a local hospital for treatment, while the American Red Cross assisted 13 residents who were displaced by the crash, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident.
