13-Year-Old Killed In Train Crash: Simi Valley Police

The teen was riding an e-bike at the time, police said.

SIMI VALLEY, CA — A 13-year-old was killed Saturday in a crash involving an Amtrak train in Simi Valley, according to police.

The teen was riding an e-bike south on Sequoia Avenue but did not stop in time at the crossing and was hit by the passing train at Los Angeles Avenue, police said.

The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m., KTLA reported.

The teen was a Simi Valley resident and a student in the Simi Valley Unified School District, police said.

“This is a heartbreaking loss for the Simi Valley community, and our thoughts are with the family, friends, and classmates affected by this tragedy,” the Simi Valley Police Department said in a Nixle alert.
