Man Killed In Northridge Hit-And-Run Crash

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Northridge on Sunday night.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Northridge on Sunday night, according to police.

The crash occurred at around 8:15 p.m. when a gray 2006 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Roscoe Boulevard, west of White Oak Avenue, when it struck a pedestrian who was in the road, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"The pedestrian was dragged a distance before becoming dislodged from the vehicle," police said.

The driver continued eastbound on Roscoe without stopping, police said.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was described as a man in his 20s, police said.

"Subsequent follow-ups were conducted leading to the location and identification of the hit and run vehicle and driver," police said.

The driver's name has not been publicly released.
