Brush Fire Threatens Structures, Prompts Road Closure In North County

Crews are at the scene.

FALLBROOK, CA — A brush fire threatened structures and prompted a road closure Wednesday in North County.

The fire broke out in the 400 block of Morro Hills Road in Fallbrook, according to North County Fire Protection District.

As of 1:44 p.m., the blaze, dubbed the Morro Fire, has burned two acres and was threatening structures. Fire officials said structures in the immediate area were evacuated.

Crews stopped the forward rate of progress shortly before 2 p.m.

Authorities shut down Morro Hills Road from Sleeping Indian and Olive Hill roads due to the fire.
