Suspect Sought After 2 Burglaries At North County Restaurant

BONSALL, CA — Authorities are searching for a man believed to have burglarized the same North County restaurant twice, stealing supplies and causing hundreds of dollars in damage.

The burglaries happened July 11 and Sept. 25 at Backdraft Bar & Grill in the 5500 block of Mission Road in Bonsall, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

In the first burglary, shortly before 1 a.m. July 11, the suspect entered a locked back patio, removed security cameras and tried to take an 80-inch television from a wall, sheriff's officials said. The business reported about $300 in damage.

The second burglary happened shortly after midnight Sept. 25, when a suspect again entered the locked patio and stole about $950 worth of restaurant supplies, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators believe the same person was responsible for both burglaries based on surveillance video.

In video from the first burglary, the suspect was wearing black‑and‑white Vans shoes with white laces, dark jeans, and a black T‑shirt.

In video from the second burglary, the suspect was wearing camouflage pants, black-and-white Vans shoes and a maroon-and-black motorcycle-style jacket with a large "Riding Legends Motors" logo on the back. The suspect was seen placing items into a black trash bag before leaving, authorities said.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday.
