Will Ferrell Explains Why He Quit His Job At Disneyland: Stars Who Worked At The House Of Mouse

The "Saturday Night Star" and comedy icon shared the story of one of his first-ever jobs with Amy Poehler on her podcast.

ANAHEIM, CA — While many are familiar with Will Ferrell — whether it's from his stint on "Saturday Night Live" or his extensive list of holiday and comedy films — few know of his life before stardom.

Ferrell sat down with fellow "Saturday Night Live" alum Amy Poehler on her podcast, "Good Hang with Amy Poehler," in part to promote "The Hawk" — a new soon-to-be-released comedy series on Netflix.

"I worked one day at Disneyland," Ferrell told Poehler, and went on to explain that when he took the position, he believed he would have the opportunity to work "one of the really fun jobs, like the Jungle Cruise operator" at Disneyland.

Ferrell admitted that he was "too embarrassed" to call Disneyland and quite, so he had a friend at the time do it for him.

According to the podcast, his friend — posing as Ferrell — made the call, and when asked for his reason for leaving, opted for anything but the truth.

"He said, 'I have a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys,'" Ferrell said. "So somewhere, there's a file at Disney corporate that says, 'Will Ferrell worked for one day. Reason for leaving? Tryout with the Dallas Cowboys football team."

Though his stint was short, Ferrell is one of many Hollywood icons to have worked at the "Happiest Place on Earth."

Other stars that have worked at Disneyland include Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kevin Costner and Wayne Brady.
