Red Cross Awards Grant To Palisades Fire Recovery Program

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Malibu Community Long Term Recovery Group announced Tuesday it has received an American Red Cross grant to expand long-term disaster recovery services for residents affected or displaced by the Palisades Fire.

The disaster recovery coalition, established by the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu in April 2025, brings together nonprofit organizations, government agencies, businesses and community partners to coordinate resources and support for disaster survivors.

The grant will expand the group's long-term recovery efforts and the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu's disaster case management program, the coalition said.

Since the fire, the program has served more than 2,550 people, distributed $3.5 million in donated goods and provided $3.3 million in cash assistance, according to the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu.

The funding will support recovery efforts for residents of Malibu, Topanga and Pacific Palisades.

"We're honored to expand our partnership with the American Red Cross as we continue walking alongside our community throughout the long-term recovery process," Boys & Girls Club of Malibu CEO Kasey Earnest said in a statement. "We are also deeply grateful to the California Community Foundation for serving as our fiscal sponsor and helping support long term recovery."

The partnership is part of the American Red Cross Long-Term Recovery Program, which provides assistance for individual and household recovery while addressing community-wide needs following disasters.
