Annual Valley Wide Employment Expo Set For Next Month In Indio

INDIO, CA — Coachella Valley residents seeking new career opportunities can meet more than two dozen organizations at the 31st annual Valley Wide Employment Expo, slated for late next month in Indio.

The event will run from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. Sept. 30 at Fantasy Springs Special Events Center, located at 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway.

The roughly 50 employers, participating agencies and firms will include Agua Caliente Casinos, Bighorn Golf Club, Desert Preschool Academy, Eisenhower Health, H&R Block, Family YMCA of the Desert, Imperial Irrigation District, Meridian Hospice, People Ready, Riverside County Office of Education, Sunline Transit Agency and The Living Zoo and Gardens.

Prior to the event, free preparation workshops will be held on Sept. 23 at Indio Workforce Development Center, 44199 Monroe St., in English and Spanish. The English sessions will take place from 8:30 a.m. through 10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., while the Spanish session will be held from 10:45- 11:45 a.m.

The workshops will help job seekers build skills and confidence leading to the expo, officials said. Topics include resume building, interview preparation, professional appearance and wardrobe guidance and job search strategies.
