Coachella Weekend 2: Festival Schedule, Road Closures Amid Final Weekend Of 2026

It's Weekend 2 of the 2026 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

INDIO, CA — Friday traffic to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival bogged down roadways with road closures, detours, and transportation adjustments in place for the final weekend of the festival. Thousands of festivalgoers were expected to arrive in Indio Friday for the second weekend that would feature performances across multiple genres.

Sabrina Carpenter is scheduled to headline Friday at 9 p.m. on the Coachella Stage, with additional performances by The xx, Disclosure, Lykke Li, Katseye, Sexyy Red, Swae Lee and Joyce Manor.

Justin Bieber will headline Saturday at 11:25 p.m., with other scheduled acts including Giveon, The Strokes, Nine Inch Nails, Morat and Geese.

The festival will conclude Sunday with Karol G headlining at about 10:10 p.m., alongside performances by Wet Leg, Major Lazer, Young Thug, Duke Dumont, Iggy Pop and FKA Twigs.

Avenue 50 between Monroe Street and Madison Avenue has been closed since March and will remain shut until May 4 to accommodate festival operations and ensure public safety. Drivers are being directed to alternate routes, including Highway 111, Dr. Carreon Boulevard, Avenue 48 and Avenue 52.

Additional closures will be in effect each Friday through Monday during the festival weekends, including:

-- Avenue 49 between Hjorth and Monroe streets;

-- Avenue 50 between Madison and Jackson streets;

-- Hjorth Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 50, and

-- Madison Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 52.

City officials said the following primary access routes will be available this weekend, April 17-20 and 24-27:

-- southbound Jefferson Street from Interstate 10 to Avenue 52;

-- southbound Washington Street from I-10 to Avenue 52;

-- southbound Monroe Street from I-10 to Avenue 52;

-- Avenue 48 between Jefferson and Jackson streets;

-- Highway 111 at Jefferson Street;

-- I-10 exit eastbound at Jefferson Street;

-- I-10 exit eastbound at Monroe Street; and

-- I-10 exit eastbound at Washington Street.

To mitigate traffic delays on each Monday following the festivals, officials expect more than 40,000 campers to leave the area near the festival grounds and Interstate 10.

Alternate routes include Washington Street, Jackson Street and Golf Center Parkway for north-south travel. For east-west travel, drivers are urged to use Highway 111, Fred Waring Drive, Miles Avenue, Dr. Carreon Boulevard and Avenue 54.

Rideshare access will be available at Avenue 49 and Monroe Street on the southwest corner. Taxi drop-off and pickup will be at Avenue 52 and Madison Street on the northeast corner.

City officials also outlined approved and restricted pedestrian access routes. Festivalgoers walking during the events may use the following locations:

-- corner of Avenue 49 and Monroe Street;

-- corner of Avenue 52 and Madison Street;

-- corner of Avenue 52 and Monroe Street, and

-- corner of Avenue 50 and Madison Street.

There will be no pedestrian access on Monroe Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 52, or on Madison Street between Avenue 50 and Avenue 52.

Golf carts will not be permitted on any pedestrian-access streets.

During weekend one, area police reported 97 arrests during the first weekend of the festival, including 59 for drug possession, 14 for false identification and three for drug or alcohol intoxication. One arrest was for a property crime, while 20 others were classified as miscellaneous offenses, according to the Indio Police Department.

Officers also issued 32 citations for unlawful use of a disabled person placard.

Authorities urged attendees and nearby residents to report non- emergency issues such as noise, traffic and parking concerns by calling 760-391- 4051.
