Palm Desert Aquatic Center Reopens Following $3.5M Renovation

Although officials initially targeted a May 23 reopening date, the center resumed normal operations Sunday.

PALM DESERT, CA — The Palm Desert Aquatic Center reopened to the public this week following a $3.5 million renovation project that replaced aging pool equipment and experienced several delays.

The facility closed in November 2025 so crews could replace pumps, filtration systems and heaters serving the center's pools, equipment that had originally been installed in 2011, city officials said.

The upgrades were intended to improve water quality, reduce service interruptions and increase energy efficiency at the facility.
