Palm Springs Aerial Tram Reopens After Nearly Monthlong Maintenance Closure
Work included rebuilding a carriage, repainting cabin interiors, conducting annual state-permit testing and control system service.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will reopen Monday following nearly a month of annual preventive maintenance work.
The first tram car will depart at 10 a.m. Monday, with the last tram up at 8 p.m. and the last tram down at 9:30 p.m.
The tramway has been closed since Sept. 8 for scheduled maintenance, including rebuilding the carriage on cabin two, repainting cabin interiors and conducting annual state-permit testing and service to the control system, officials said.

"We appreciate our guests' patience and understanding as our tramway systems and facilities departments worked to complete all necessary projects," tramway General Manager Nancy Nichols said in a statement.
