Traffic Delays Expected On Highway 74 In RivCo As Crews Install 'No Passing' Signs On Aug. 22: Caltrans

The California Highway Patrol will be present to assist with traffic control and the protection of Caltrans work crews.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY — Motorists were advised to expect traffic delays on Highway 74 as construction crews install "No Passing" signs on Saturday, Caltrans announced on Wednesday.

Weather permitted, crews will be performing the operation, which requires one-way flagging, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The installation will take place along eastbound and westbound State Route 74 from Mountain Center to Palm Desert, according to Caltrans.

The operation may cause delays of up to 20 minutes as crews work on both directions of the highway, according to Caltrans.

Motorists were advised to reduce their speed near work areas for the safety of Caltrans crews and other drivers on the route. Signage will be placed ahead to indicate approaching roadway work.
