Pleasanton Hosting Lunar New Year Celebrations

PLEASANTON, CA — The Tri-Valley is celebrating the beginning of the Year of the Horse, a year traditionally seen as restless, energetic, forward-moving, and emotionally honest.

In Pleasanton, the Firehouse Arts Center is hosting a free celebration on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 1-3 p.m. at the Pleasanton Senior Center. Guests can enjoy storytelling, performances by Xiaopei Chinese Dance and Kungfu Dragon USA, and family-friendly crafts.

The Stoneridge Shopping Center is hosting a celebration on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 12-2 in the Grand Court featuring a cultural performance, shopping promotions, and giveaways.

In Livermore, Livermore Valley Arts is celebrating the Lunar New Year with a free celebration on Sunday, Feb. 22 in downtown Livermore from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests can enjoy performances from XiaoPei Dance and Kung Fu Dragon, and participate in family-friendly activities like lantern-making, artwork, and creating an altar of tidings. Families will learn about Chinese history and play educational games.

The San Francisco Premium Outlets is hosting a celebration on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 1-3 p.m. in the courtyard between Bloomingdale’s and Old Navy. The celebration will feature a Lion Dance Performance from LionDanceMe starting at 2 p.m., a series of food trucks, a Chinese calligraphy workshop, and a Simon+ membership exclusive getaway. There will also be a number of retailer pop-ups offering limited deals at Clarins, Theory, Ferragamo, DKNY, Helly Hansen, Karl Lagerfeld, Laderach, Polo Ralph Lauren, Stuart Weitzman, Dumpling Haus, and more.
