'Pumpkins After Dark' Debuts At Alameda County Fairgrounds

PLEASANTON, CA — It’s almost October, which makes it the perfect time to experience some spooky Pumpkins After Dark.

Starting Friday, the national Pumpkins After Dark display is headed to Pleasanton for the first time, transforming the Alameda County Fairgrounds into a glowing Halloween experience featuring thousands of hand-carved pumpkins, giant Halloween displays, live pumpkin carving, and more.

The community will be able to stroll through the fairgrounds and enjoy intricately-carved pumpkins and Halloween displays. Unlike a traditional haunted house, Pumpkins After Dark is designed as an atmospheric Halloween experience that can be enjoyed by the whole family at their leisure.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy live pumpkin carving demonstrations to see how the pumpkins are transformed into works of art.

“Guests can expect thousands of hand-carved pumpkins, incredible displays and photo opportunities throughout the walk-through experience,” said Kami Van Halst, a marketing representative for Pumpkins After Dark. “It’s spooky and atmospheric without being a traditional haunted house, so it’s something families, couples and groups of friends can all enjoy.”
