Man Who Molested 3 Boys Gets 60 Years In Prison In SMC: DA

WOODSIDE, CA — An 84-year-old Woodside man was sentenced Tuesday to 60 years to life in prison after being convicted of molesting three young boys, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

Alan Frank Russell was convicted May 26 of 12 felony counts of child molestation and one felony count of possessing child sexual-abuse material, authorities said. The victims were three boys who were family friends of Russell and took trips with him and their families, prosecutors said.

Russell was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life and have no contact with the victims.

The judge denied his request for probation and remanded him into custody without bail, prosecutors said.
