Bed Bath & Beyond Making San Diego Comeback Via The Container Store

SAN DIEGO, CA — Bed Bath & Beyond is making a San Diego comeback.

Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. in April announced an agreement to acquire The Container Store. As part of the merger, The Container Store announced Thursday that 98 of its locations, including the San Diego site, will integrate Bed Bath & Beyond products into its stores.

The company said about 30% of select categories and products will be liquidated starting Friday across all locations and online at containerstore.com.

"This is a reset with purpose," said Jen Pape, senior vice president of stores at The Container Store. "We are actively reshaping our stores to make room for what's next. By streamlining select categories today, we're creating the space and flexibility needed to introduce Bed Bath & Beyond products and deliver a more complete home experience for our customers."

Beginning in May, the San Diego store at 7097 Friars Road and other identified locations are expected to transition over several months into a combined The Container Store + Bed Bath & Beyond format, which will feature expanded home goods alongside the retailer's existing organizing products and services.
