The evening kicks off with welcome bites alongside Juicy Hazy IPA before moving into a Summer Salad paired with a barrel-aged Belgian sour. Guests will then enjoy Pork Tenderloin matched with Rye IPA, followed by Chocolate Bread Pudding served with a dark Czech premium lager. Tickets are $65 per person and include all courses and beer pairings; tax and gratuity are not included. Learn to make a basket made from long leaf pine needles, using waxed Irish linen, an assortment of beads or other embellishments, starting with a stone center. Topics to be covered include the differences between pine needle types, preparing the needles, waxed Irish linen, basket centers, embellishing your basket, and how to start and how to finish your basket. Students have the option to weave a basket, a pendant, or an ornament.&nbsp; Basket Weaving is a wonderful way to recycle from nature and is also a meditative activity.&nbsp; No experience necessary. Ages 18+ welcome.&nbsp;&nbsp;

McDonald's of Southern California is teaming up with barbers and hairstylists from Country Club Barber Shop to offer free haircuts to Escondido students as they prepare for the 2026-27 school year. The event will take place on Aug. 17 at McDonald's, 1146 E. Valley Pkwy. Walk-ins are welcome from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with giveaways and fun activities for kids. Children can also enjoy free chocolate chip cookies and apple slices, while supplies last. Limited appointments available, and the event will be held on a first-come, first-served basis.

Spreckels Organ Pavilion

The Spreckels Organ Society presents the 38th Annual San Diego International Summer Organ Festival, the largest organ festival in the United States, featuring the historic Spreckels Organ, the largest open-air musical instrument in the world, with 5,098 pipes of up to 32-feet long, and nine percussion instruments located throughout the building.
This concert is an organ and orchestra celebration featuring Civic Organist Prieto Ramírez. Conducted by Alejandro Gómez Guillén with Raúl Prieto Ramírez (soloist), and San Diego Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Jeff Thayer (concertmaster).
The summer-long festival – directed by Raúl Prieto Ramírez, Spreckels Organ Society’s Artistic Director and San Diego’s Civic Organist – takes place in the heart of Balboa Park, from July 13 through Sept. 7. These 90-minute, free admission concerts by acclaimed international artists are brought to the Spreckels Organ Pavilion each Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. by the Spreckels Organ Society. The concerts are free thanks to the support of the Society’s sponsors, donors, members and volunteers.
This season, the Monday evening concerts feature artists from five different nations, making it a truly international festival. The variety of concerts is broad with something for everyone.
