Coaster Rail Service Suspended This Weekend From San Diego To Oceanside
Officials advised residents to remain alert along the corridor and to only cross the rail line at designated rail crossings.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Coastal rail service between San Diego and Oceanside will be suspended this weekend for routine railroad maintenance and major infrastructure work, officials announced.
The closure will take place Saturday and Sunday, with regularly scheduled service to resume Monday, according to North County Transit District. Work will take place near Eighth Street in Del Mar, Batiquitos Lagoon in Carlsbad, Miramar Hill, and from Palm Street to Beech Street in San Diego.
"Weekend closures occur periodically throughout the year on a pre-determined schedule to provide construction crews the opportunity to work safely on and along the rail line to complete preventative maintenance improvements and advance major railroad construction projects," the district said in a statement.
