SAN DIEGO, CA — Some San Diego area schools were closed Wednesday due to strong winds in the region.
The San Diego County Office of Education announced that schools in Mountain Empire Unified School District were closed due to high winds, which make travel to and from school challenging, especially for high-profile vehicles such as school buses.
"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," the County Office of Education said in a statement.
