Michelin-Starred Chef Returns To San Diego For Exclusive Rooftop Dining Experience

SAN DIEGO, CA — Michelin-starred Chef Akira Back will return to his Gaslamp Quarter restaurant for a one-night-only chef's table dinner Tuesday.

The special event at Lumi will feature a multi-course rooftop dinner curated by Back, who will interact with guests throughout the evening.

The experience will begin with a welcome reception featuring passed appetizers and a specialty cocktail before diners are seated for a meal showcasing Japanese and Nikkei-inspired cuisine, including a signature sushi and nigiri course and dessert.

Located atop Huntress in downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, Lumi is known for its rooftop setting, city views and modern Japanese menu. The restaurant is one of several namesake concepts operated by Back, whose restaurants span multiple countries and have earned international acclaim for blending Japanese cuisine with Korean and global influences.

Tickets cost $150 per person and include the reception, cocktail, dinner and dessert. Guests also can add a premium sake pairing for an additional $35.

Seating is limited. Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner scheduled at 6:30 p.m.
