Nordstrom To Open First San Diego-Area Service Hub This Week

Unlike traditional department stores, Nordstrom Local locations focus on services such as online order pickup, returns and alterations.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Nordstrom is set to open its first Nordstrom Local service hub in the San Diego area this week as part of the company's ongoing expansion in California.

Nordstrom Local One Paseo will open Thursday at 3725 Paseo Place, Suite 1040, in Carmel Valley, the Seattle-based retailer announced. A second location is scheduled to open June 18 in Danville in the San Francisco Bay Area.

"We're excited to bring these new Nordstrom Local service hubs to San Diego and Danville, expanding our commitment to serving customers across California," said Fanya Chandler, president of Nordstrom stores.

Unlike traditional department stores, Nordstrom Local locations focus on services such as online order pickup, returns and alterations. The 1,190-square-foot San Diego site will also accept donations of gently used clothing and shoes for local nonprofits.

The One Paseo location will become the fifth Nordstrom Local in California, joining existing sites in Brentwood, Newport Beach, Manhattan Beach and Fillmore. The Danville store will be the sixth.
