SAN DIEGO, CA — A crowd of 25,000 gathered at Petco Park on May 15 for Curebound's Concert for Cures, where P!nk headlined a night that celebrated cancer survivors and raised support for lifesaving research.

Since Curebound started its signature benefit concert series in 2022, the organization has raised millions to fund cutting-edge adult and pediatric cancer research.

"San Diego sits at a rare convergence — world-class science, an unmatched biotech ecosystem, and a philanthropic community," Curebound CEO Robin Toft told Patch.

"We came together at Curebound Concert for Cures: P!nk to celebrate the power of innovative cancer research," she said. We thank P!nk for her amazing performance and the tens of thousands of people that joined us in celebrating."

Curebound's signature fundraising event has become one of San Diego's largest charitable gatherings. Previous headliners have included Elton John, Alicia Keys and Ed Sheeran.

Last year's concert featuring Elton John raised $11.5 million in support of cancer research and marked the largest single-day fundraising event in San Diego history, according to Curebound.

This year's event welcomed 1,500 cancer survivors as guests of the Manchester Family Foundation, recognizing their resilience and highlighting the impact of advances in cancer research and treatment.

"The Manchester Family Foundation believes in showing up for our community in moments that matter," said Doug Manchester of the Manchester Family Foundation. "We are proud to support Curebound in the fight against cancer and honored to share this special evening celebrating the strength and resilience of thousands of cancer patients, survivors, and their families."

Curebound has awarded $51.5 million in grants since its founding, supporting 170 studies across 23 types of cancer. According to the organization, that investment has helped launch 30 expanded clinical trials and generated $161 million in follow-on funding.

The annual concert was previously held at the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park before moving to Petco Park last year. Organizers said proceeds from this year's event will continue supporting collaborative cancer research efforts aimed at accelerating new treatments and improving patient outcomes.
