San Leandro Man Seriously Hurt In Crash On Snowy Road Near South Lake Tahoe: Report

The crash happened Monday afternoon on a snow-covered stretch of Highway 50, according to the East Bay Times.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A San Leandro resident was among three men seriously hurt Monday afternoon in a crash on a snowy-covered stretch of Highway 50 near South Lake Tahoe, according to a report from the East Bay Times.

The three men were outside a vehicle putting tire chains on just east of Johnson Pass Road when the driver of a pickup truck lost control and crashed into them, according to the report. The impact threw one of the men about 40 feet, according to the report.

It's unclear what caused the pickup truck driver to lose control or whether the snow was a factor.

All three men were taken to Barton Memorial Hospital with major injuries and remained hospitalized as of Tuesday, according to the report. The extent of the three men's injuries was not available.

Two of the men were 23-year-olds, from San Jose and Concord, while a third was a 22-year-old from San Leandro, according to the report.
