SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Three people suffered smoke inhalation injuries after a fire broke out at a six-story residential complex in the Tenderloin District Sunday morning.
San Francisco firefighters responded to the fire in the 400 block of Jones Street and about 11:40 a.m. after a blaze erupted in a first floor light shaft and spread to the building's third floor, according to San Francisco Fire Department Lt. Mariano Elias.
Two of the injured people were evaluated on scene and declined further treatment, while one was taken to a hospital.

Drivers were asked to avoid Jones Street between Ellis Street and Steveloe Place while firefighters remained on scene Sunday afternoon checking the building for hotspots.
