Watch: Crews Rescue Stranded Boat At Golden Gate Bridge In Early Morning Wreck

BAY AREA, CA — Emergency crews rescued three people from a 25-foot fishing vessel that struck rocks near the Golden Gate Bridge early this morning.

The San Francisco Fire Department, San Francisco Police Department Marine Unit, U.S. Coast Guard, Southern Marin Fire, Sausalito Fire, and Fire Boat Liberty responded at 6:10 a.m.

Crews located the vessel on the north side of the bridge, placing the emergency within Marin County’s jurisdiction, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Responders removed all three people from the fishing boat and provided paramedic care. The police marine unit transported them to the Marin County shoreline, where they received follow-up care.

San Francisco fire crews later cleared the scene. Officials reported no impacts in San Francisco.

Officials credited ongoing joint training for the quick response.

Bay Area agencies regularly conduct marine drills, unified-command exercises, and shared-radio training for water rescues and emergencies near the Golden Gate Bridge, according to the S.F. Fire Department.
