San Francisco Woman Gives Birth on Road After Getting Stuck in Horrific City Traffic (pulptastic.com) — A San Francisco couple ended up delivering their baby on the shoulder of Crossover Drive in Golden Gate Park after a Highway 101 closure and crash gridlocked traffic toward their birthing center. A doula stuck in the same jam stepped in to coach the roadside birth before firefighters and paramedics arrived, highlighting how weekend Caltrans work and detours can suddenly paralyze key city routes.
   

4. Report Finds Little Recourse for Donors (insidehighered.com) — A new report says donors have little legal power when universities change how their gifts are used, often leaving only state attorneys general able to sue. For San Franciscans, the most immediate example is UC Law San Francisco's ongoing court fight with descendants of its namesake over the school's decision to drop the Hastings name, a case now petitioned to the U.S. Supreme Court.
