Woman Killed In Early Morning San Jose Shooting

A suspect in the fatal early morning shooting of a woman found dead in San Jose is in custody.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — A woman was shot to death early Sunday morning in a San Jose neighborhood.

Police say they have detained a person of interest as homicide detectives launched an investigation into the shooting.

The San Jose Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at about 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of Bonita Avenue and Sunny Court, where officers found the woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound, NBC Bay Area reported.

She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police detained a person of interest near the scene, but they have not released additional details about that individual or what led to the shooting, according to NBC Bay Area.
