Major Traffic Headaches Expected During Weekend Road Closure In San Leandro
The road closure will begin Friday night, authorities said.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — Marina Boulevard between San Leandro Boulevard and Alvarado Street in San Leandro will be closed this weekend for track maintenance, police said.
It's unclear exactly what that maintenance by Union Pacific Railroad will entail, but the streets will be closed to all cars, bikes and pedestrians starting Friday at 8 p.m.

The streets will reopen at 8 p.m. on Sunday, according to the San Leandro Police Department.
"This closure will likely have a significant impact on traffic congestion and street parking availability," the San Leandro Police Department said in a statement Thursday. "Marked detours will be in place and should be followed. Please utilize alternate routes to avoid the area and plan your travels accordingly."
