New Swim School Opens In San Leandro: 'Where We Want To Be'

"We are proud to open our doors and become part of the San Leandro community," the school's owner said.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A highly acclaimed swim school has opened in San Leandro just in time for the summer.

SafeSplash Swim School at 304 Bayfair Dr. opened its doors on Thursday, June 18, joining a network of other institutions already in the Bay Area.

"San Leandro is exactly the kind of community where we want to be," Chris Harkness, President of SafeSplash Swim School, said.

The expansion, officials with the organization said, reflects the growing demand for "structured, safety-first swim education in the region."

SafeSplash offers courses for people of all ages looking to learn for the first time, build confidence or strengthen their technique at their own pace, the organization said.

"Our goal is to create a place where children and adults feel safe, encouraged, and inspired to reach their potential in the water," Ujjal Baruah, owner of SafeSplash San Leandro, said. "Every lesson is a step toward greater confidence, safety, and a skill that lasts a lifetime."
