First Presbyterian Church

Come enjoy great music and a message of hope as we explore favorite Broadway musicals and deeper spiritual themes in our annual “God on Broadway” series.&nbsp; Shows in this year’s series are: "The Lion King” (August 2), “Man of La Mancha” (August 9), “The Music Man” (August 16), and “Maybe Happy Ending” (August 23). Our pianist/composer John Steiner and guest musicians will perform songs from each production.
Rev. Cynthia Cochran-Carney will explore meaningful and humorous connections between Broadway shows and biblical stories, saying “The arts inform all aspects of our lives, including our spiritual lives. Many of the musicals look at challenging social issues, including racism, poverty, exploitation, and diversity. In this time of polarization and division, the arts can open us up to see joys and challenges from someone else’s perspective.”
Sing, laugh and learn valuable life lessons with us in the sanctuary on Sundays in August at 9:30 am at First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael, 1510 Fifth Avenue.&nbsp; The building is handicap accessible. The services are livestreamed on YouTube.

"God On Broadway" The Lion King -- Aug 2 -- First Presbyterian Church in San Rafael

Trinity Lutheran Church

Elementary-aged (grades 1-5)&nbsp;students are invited to enroll in Trinity's&nbsp;Summer Bible Camp:&nbsp;True North (333 Woodland Avenue, San Rafael). Each day (Monday to Friday), we will encounter stories, crafts, games, and snacks that will help us trust Jesus, know that he loves us, and feel that he is always with us!&nbsp;Our morning program is from 9 am to 12 noon. We also provide an "EXTENDED" program until 3 pm each day. <a href="https://trinitysanrafael.org/children/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Registration forms are available to download online</a>. On Friday, August 7th, we will host our “Closing Celebration”! You and your entire family are invited to share God’s love through music, food, and tons of fun! All are welcome, whether or not you attended the Bible Camp… so bring your neighbors, friends, and big brothers and sisters along! We will provide hot dogs, chips, drinks, and dessert. Please bring a side dish to share. We will also have a supervised inflatable slide and Snow Cones&nbsp;for all to enjoy!
