2 Teens Shoot At Passing Vehicle, Leading To Arrest In Marin County: Police

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Two teens were arrested Monday after San Rafael police said they opened fire on a passing vehicle.

Officers responded around 7:49 p.m. to the 500 block of Irwin Street after receiving reports of a shooting. Callers told dispatchers two suspects had fled the area, providing descriptions to officers.

Police said the victim was driving on Irwin Street when the two suspects suddenly opened fire. The victim was not injured.

Police tracked the two suspects running from Duffy Place behind a building before they continued onto Andersen Drive, police said.

Officers said they arrived at the suspect's location, and both were taken into custody without incident. Police said they also recovered the handgun believed to have been used in the shooting.

Investigators said they have not determined what prompted the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Because both suspects are minors, their identities were not released. They were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall on multiple felony firearm-related charges.
