Man Pleads Not Guilty In Violent E-Bike Theft Attempt In Marin County: DA

A judge cited public safety concerns and a history of violent offenses in denying the request for release from jail, prosecutors said.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A San Anselmo man pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to charges stemming from an attempt to steal an electric bicycle, which involved punching the owner of the vehicle, according to the Marin County District Attorney’s office.

Central Marin police said they arrested Darrell Nunally, 32, on April 8 in connection with the incident, which reportedly occurred on Greenfield Avenue in San Anselmo.

The judge denied a request from Nunally's attorneys for his release from the Marin County Jail, citing concerns over public safety and noting his history of prior convictions for violent offenses and disobeying court orders.
