Punked Out Pretty Brings Young Punk Energy to California Stages

Young Marin punk band builds momentum with debut album recording, major California venues and a growing list of upcoming shows

Punked Out Pretty, a fast-rising young punk band with Marin roots, is taking its high-energy sound to several California stages this summer and fall, continuing a busy run of performances that has quickly made the group one to watch in the local youth music scene.

Founded by songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Roxanne Rosen, Punked Out Pretty formed in March 2025 and has already built a reputation for loud guitars, upbeat stage energy, and a spirited mix of punk, pop, alternative rock, and classic influences. The band features Roxanne on guitar and vocals, her brother Rex on drums, Lilah Sitver on bass, and Madison Dieterich on vocals.

Although the band is young, its members have approached the project with a level of focus more often associated with seasoned touring musicians. In its first year, Punked Out Pretty played dozens of shows across California, performing at venues and community events including Music City SF, HopMonk Tavern in Novato, the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, Hotel Utah in San Francisco, the Haight Ashbury Music Festival, Neck of the Woods in San Francisco, the Railroad Square Music Festival in Santa Rosa and the NAMM Center Stage in Anaheim.

“It’s been an amazing first year for Punked Out Pretty,” Roxanne Rosen said. “We started this band because we love playing loud, fun, high-energy music, and now we’re getting to play places we used to only dream about. We’re young, but we take this seriously, and every show is a chance to prove what this band can do.”

The band’s sound is rooted in punk’s urgency and attitude, but its influences stretch across several generations of rock music. The group draws inspiration from artists such as The Ramones, The Damned, Bikini Kill, Joan Jett, Blondie, The Pretenders, The Replacements, The Cranberries, The Psychedelic Furs, and Billy Idol. On stage, Punked Out Pretty blends originals with reworked favorites, putting its own punchy stamp on the music.

Punked Out Pretty has also begun recording its first album at Groove Room Studios, adding another milestone to a year that has already included major stages, brand endorsements, and a growing following. Members of the band have earned support from several music brands, including Black Diamond Strings, which welcomed Roxanne Rosen and Lilah Sitver as brand ambassadors as well as Roxanne’s own signature model Ten Electronics Barracuda Pedal.

The band’s next scheduled performance is Friday, Aug. 7, at Up The Creek Records in Walnut Creek, where Punked Out Pretty is slated to perform from 7 to 10 p.m. The show is scheduled to include Marin locals Knights of Molino and Red40.

From there, Punked Out Pretty heads south for a Friday, Sept. 4, performance at The Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood, one of Southern California’s most famous rock clubs. That show is scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. and includes local favorites VAIN and JETBOY.

The band returns closer to home on Saturday, Sept. 12, to headline the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, appearing with Peaboo and the Catz and Red40. Additional September dates include Valley Rox in Reseda on Sept. 19 and the legendary Doll Hut in Anaheim on Sept. 20.

For Punked Out Pretty, the upcoming shows represent another step in a rapid first chapter. What began as a new band in early 2025 has quickly become a working, gigging group with a growing California footprint. With new recordings underway and more live dates ahead, Punked Out Pretty is proving that youth and experience do not have to be opposites — especially when the amps are loud and the songs hit hard.
