San Ramon Man Identified As Victim Of Fatal, Multi-Car Crash
Authorities say a 45-year-old San Ramon man was killed after being rear-ended by a fast-moving car that did not brake prior to impact.
SAN RAMON, CA — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal multi-car collision that took place Monday afternoon on Dublin Boulevard near H Mart.
Michael Bertalan, 45, of San Ramon, died after his car was struck from behind by a Lexus ES 350 traveling at a high rate of speed, according to reports from Bay City News and the Bay Area News Group citing the coroner. Patch has reached out to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau for further information.
According to police reports, Bertalan was in the right-turn lane of westbound Dublin Boulevard when he was struck by the Lexus, which investigators say did not brake before impact. This caused a chain reaction that disabled all five vehicles involved. Emergency crews performed life-saving measures, while Alameda County firefighters used hydraulic tools to extricate the two occupants of Bertalan’s car.
