SAN RAMON, CA — Eight local teens helped serve over 100 sandwiches to a local homeless shelter. The event was organized by Busy Buzzy Bots, a San Ramon nonprofit founded by Dougherty Valley students whose aim is to help 10,000 children by 2030.

On June 7, 10 volunteers, including eight local teens, formed an assembly line and packed over 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that were donated to the South Hayward Parish Church.

Saahithi Madhuvarsu, a rising senior at Dougherty Valley, and Saaketh Madhuvarsu, founded Busy Buzzy Bots in 2020 with the goal of helping youth become passionate about STEM education. They offer STEM kits, educational resources, and workshops designed to make STEM learning fun and accessible. They have also launched a number of other community service initiatives, including a STEM Holiday Craft Workshop, a Halloween candy drive, a food drive, and partnerships to help with hygiene and education in rural India.
