San Ramon Teens Invited To Apply For Outstanding Teen Citizenship Award, Service & Leadership Program

SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon is offering several opportunities to train and recognize its teen leaders.

Registration is open for the city’s Teen Service and Leadership Program, which will give local students the opportunity to gain leadership training through working within the Parks & Community Services department. Participants will take part in eight educational sessions, where they will learn about teamwork, communication, interview skills, and learn more about their community and local government.

They will also take part in supervised volunteer experiences, including supporting youth sports programs, events and programs at Forest Home Farms, and other city events.

The program is open to anyone 12-17 years old, and runs on Thursdays from Oct. 1 to Nov. 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the San Ramon Community Center. See here to learn more and register.

The application deadline is also approaching for the City of San Ramon’s Outstanding Teen Citizenship Award, which is awarded to high school students who have made a significant contribution toward enhancing the city’s quality of life. The award winner will receive a $250 scholarship, and be recognized at both a city council meeting and the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce W.O.W. Awards Dinner.

Applications are due by Friday at 4:30 p.m.
