San Ramon Valley Science Olympiad Hosting Information Sessions
SRVUSD 4th and 5th graders are invited to sign up for the competition, with features a number of STEAM challenges.
SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon Valley Science Olympiad, a student-led organization that holds an annual science competition for SRVUSD 4th and 5th graders, is hosting three information sessions in October.
The annual competition in March features three different events that work to build teamwork, leadership, and other STEAM skills.
Students from the same school work in teams of six on each of the following:
- Build Events, in which students work in teams of six to create different contraptions that are tested during the Olympiad.
- Theory Events, in which students’ critical thinking skills are tested
- Instant Challenges, in which teams work together to create an on-the-spot device to solve a specific task.

- Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 6-7 p.m. at Bollinger Canyon Elementary School
- Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 6-7 p.m. at Bella Vista Elementary School
