Tex-Mex Chain Closes San Ramon Restaurant, Its Last In Bay Area

SAN RAMON, CA — NorCal Tex-Mex chain Dos Coyotes closed its San Ramon location Thursday, the restaurant announced. The San Ramon location, located at 3191 Crow Canyon Place, was its last location in the Bay Area.

“Thank you, San Ramon!” Dos Coyotes said in a Facebook announcement. “It has been a privilege to serve this community. Thank you for every meal, every visit, and every friendly face over the years.”

Dos Coyotes Border Café is a fast-casual chain serving Southwestern/Californian fusion food to 10 locations around Northern California. The first location opened in January 1991 at The Marketplace in North Davis, and the San Ramon location opened in May 2017.

Several commenters expressed disappointment. "Thanks for the paella burrito, great salsa and strong margaritas! So many great memories there!" one commenter wrote.

"My most favorite green salsa in the history of ever. Thanks for the delicious meals, going to miss you," wrote another.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dos Coyotes closed locations at Sacramento International Airport and two malls. Its Market Square at Arden Fair location in Sacramento is also currently closed until further notice. San Ramon was the chain’s last Bay Area location – remaining restaurants are located in Davis, Sacramento, Folsom, and other cities around the Sacramento region.
