Man Killed In Fall Over Cliff At Bonny Doon Beach
Rescuers searched the surf for signs of a victim without success, Cal Fire said.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A man in his early 20s was found dead early Saturday at Bonny Doon Beach, about 10 miles northwest of Santa Cruz, Cal Fire said.
Firefighters, police, lifeguard crews and other first responders went into action about 1:30 a.m. after a report that a man had fallen from the south side of the cove to the ocean below.
Rescuers searched the surf for signs of a victim without success, Cal Fire said.

A police drone subsequently located a motionless victim on a rock shelf about 50 feet below the cliff edge at the point of the cove, according to Cal Fire.
Two Santa Cruz firefighters were lowered by ropes to the rock shelf and found the man dead. His body was raised to the top of the bluff in a basket.
