Bystander Steps In Amid Attack On 2 Women In East County
Andres Sandoval, 47, was arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes, authorities said.
SPRING VALLEY, CA — A sexual battery suspect was hospitalized after a bystander intervened as two women were being attacked in San Diego's East County, authorities said.
Deputies responded shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday to a report of two women being attacked near the 3100 block of Bancroft Drive in Spring Valley, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Andres Sandoval, 47, who was injured during an altercation with the person who intervened, was arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes, according to Sgt. Timothy Clark.

"During the assault, one of the victims sustained a minor injury and was evaluated by paramedics on scene," Clark said. "Sandoval was injured during the altercation with the passerby and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment."
Sandoval's relationship with the two women was unknown.
