September Brings Family Fun, Community Events To Santee

SANTEE, CA — A pancake breakfast, family movie night and community cleanup are among the events planned this month across Santee.

The Santee Fire Department and Firefighters Association will host its annual pancake breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at Fire Station 5 at 9130 Carlton Oaks Drive. Tickets are $5 at the door.

That evening, families can attend a free outdoor screening of "A Minecraft Movie" at Town Center Community Park East at 550 Park Center Drive. Pre-show entertainment begins at 5 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk. Food and desserts will be available for purchase.

The Fall Community Cleanup, Shred and Donation Event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 26 at Santee City Hall at 10601 Magnolia Ave. Residents can drop off unwanted household items, shred documents and donate eligible items to Goodwill. Proof of residency is required, and disposal restrictions apply.

Sept. 30 is the last day to purchase Phase 1 general admission tickets for the Brews and Bites Festival for $70.42. Prices are set to increase to $81.06 on Oct. 1.

The 21-and-older festival will take place Oct. 17 at Town Center Community Park East. The event will feature food and beverage samples, Halloween activities and live music by Jimmy's Buffet.
