Shelter-In-Place Issued For Massive Industrial Fire In South Gate: Authorities

SOUTH GATE, CA — Firefighters were battling a large commercial blaze Sunday afternoon in South Gate, prompting a shelter-in-place order, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on scene around 2:40 p.m. in the 11800 block of Industrial Avenue, where smoke and fire were coming from a one-story building.

The South Gate Police Department issued a shelter-in-place order for the surrounding community.
“People and pets should stay indoors with doors and windows closed,’' County Supervisor Janice Hahn said.

Police warned drivers of traffic delays and urged them to avoid Gardendale and Industrial streets.
