5 Ways To Keep Cool In Temecula Valley Wine Country This Summer

TEMECULA, CA — Want the ultimate in summer escape? Temecula Valley, a short drive from the region's major cities, is a world away. We asked our friends at Visit Temecula Valley, Heyday Concerts and the City of Temecula what their favorite spots are for staying cool on your staycation.
"With a little planning, summer visitors can spend one-on-one time with the winemakers, chefs, and independent creators who are shaping the valley’s vibrant culture," a spokesperson for the travel bureau said.
From underground dining to evening concerts alongside the vineyards, here is how to experience the cool side of Temecula Valley this summer:

1. Subterranean Sips and Dips
The Cave at Oak Mountain Winery - Literally the “coolest” dining experience in wine country, this unique restaurant sits 104 feet underground. Guests can escape the midday sun to enjoy thoughtfully prepared dishes paired perfectly with Oak Mountain’s estate wines, alongside a summer calendar of Family Fireside Fridays, country line dancing, and comedy nights.

Slip Into The Cool Pool At Bottaia Winery - It's not every winery that offers a swim-up wine tasting experience and cabana relaxation. The Pool at BOTTAIA is open for the summer and includes private, Italian-style cabanas, a Pool Cafe + Cocktail Bar, and a splash pad for children. Small plates and entrees, along with local and regional wines, plus traditional and modern cocktails, are served at The Pool Cafe + Cocktail Bar. The BOTTAIA Winery tasting room is 21+ and open Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Reservations are a must.
Enjoy The Oasis At Pechanga Resort Casino For The Day or the Stay - Visitors and residents can visit Pechanga Resort Casino for some outdoor pool fun. There are four pools, two whirlpools, two twisty waterslides, an improved family pool, 27 cabanas, 6 daybeds, and an inviting swim-up bar. Stay all day with a cabana rental, either in the family play zone or the more relaxing adult lounge. Enjoy poolside service from the many walking servers. Pro tip: if you truly want to bathe in the lap of luxury, the private spa pool is available to Spa Pechanga visitors.

2. Summer of Sound: Wine Country Concerts Abound
Renovated Courtyard at Baily’s Old Town - Following a meticulous $250,000 remodeling project, Baily’s is celebrating the grand return of live music every Friday beginning June 26. The iconic venue’s state-of-the-art outdoor courtyard has been re-engineered to deliver a premium acoustic experience.
Vineyard Stages & Headliners - South Coast Winery Resort & Spa returns with its critically acclaimed Rhythm on the Vine Concert Series, bringing legendary rock, pop, and blues artists to an intimate open-air stage. Nearby, Thornton Winery keeps the rhythm going with its iconic Champagne Jazz Concert Series, pairing smooth contemporary jazz with award-winning sparkling wines.
Tribute Concerts: In The Vineyard, Under The Stars - all summer long, these tribute concerts rule the weekends, according to Robert Rankin Walker of Heyday Events. Get tickets for shows at different wineries across the valley, hosted by Heyday Events, to see tribute bands for the Eagles, B-52s, and other 80s artists, and others through the end of summer, 2026. Plan your outing at Bel Vino Winery, Mount Palomar Winery, or Longshadow Ranch Winery for a relaxed dinner and a show.

For major arena-style tours, Pechanga Resort Casino boasts an elite summer lineup featuring Al Green, Nile Rodgers & Chic, and LeAnn Rimes, alongside their 2nd Annual Whiskey and Wings Festival on July 11.
3. World Cup Soccer Viewing Parties
World Soccer Viewing – Several businesses in Temecula Valley will show select games, including Doffo Winery, Hendo’s Barrel House, Pechanga Resort Casino, and Wilson Creek Winery. Fans can gather to cheer on their favorite international teams on big screens and enjoy special menu items.
The Shamrock Irish Pub and Eatery, an authentic Irish Pub in Temecula Valley, is also hosting live World Cup Soccer Viewing Parties. The restaurant recommends reservations, available by calling 951-696-5252. "Walk-ins are welcome, but due to limited capacity, especially on weekends, please make a table reservation online to avoid disappointment."
In Old Town Temecula, Pamec Winery is throwing its hat in the ring for soccer watching. "Pamec is an easy Old Town stop for natural wine before or after the match — a relaxed patio, tasting flights, glass pours, and a location that keeps you close to restaurants, hotels, and game-day energy," a spokesperson says. "Not an official FIFA, World Cup, or tournament-affiliated event, we are a local Temecula winery and natural wine tasting room making it easier to turn game day into a full Old Town Temecula outing."
4. Small Town Festivities All Summer Long
Summer Sunset Taste of Old Town (July 22) - This premier mid-summer culinary stroll allows food lovers to wander the historic, western-era streets of Old Town, sampling curated bites and sips from the area’s top independent chefs, craft breweries, and boutique wineries. Temecula Hosts “Americana” Independence Celebrations – Temecula will begin celebrating Independence Day with “Uncle Sam” and Temecula Mayor Jessica Alexander handing out free cookies in Old Town July 1 and 2 from 2-3 p.m. On July 4, the annual 4th of July parade will take place in Old Town at 10 a.m., followed by an afternoon of family-friendly activities, live music, and a spectacular fireworks display at Ronald Reagan Sports Park at 9 p.m.
Celebrate Dad all Summer – Father’s Day is a given, but dads should be celebrated all summer long. Whether enjoying BBQ in Old Town or unwinding with a round of golf and a beer, Temecula Valley has plenty of things to do with Dear Old Dad. More ideas here.

5. Summer Twilights & Midweek Opportunities:
To make the cooler parts of the day work, local golf courses offer early-morning and evening tee times, while wineries extend tasting and dining room hours.
