Water Restored After Walnut Creek Water Main Break; Lane Closures Remain

Nearby homes and businesses have water service again, though lane closures remain while crews finish repairs.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Water service was restored following a water break in Walnut Creek, the Contra Costa Water District reported.

The main broke Thursday afternoon and shut down lanes of traffic on North Main Street between Sunnyvale Avenue and Geary Road, resulting in low water pressure or service interruptions for nearby homes.

On Friday at 8:06 a.m., CCWO reported that crews repaired the damaged water main overnight and water service was restored to nearby customers. Lane closures remain in effect on North Main Street between Sunnyvale Avenue and Geary Road as of Friday morning while CCWO and Caltrans crews work on repairs.
