Group exhibition at Artists on Santa Fe gallery explores the emotional and symbolic range of the color blue.

 On view July 17 – August 17, 2026

This exhibition explores the emotional and symbolic range of the color blue across paintings, mixed media, textile work, sculpture, functional ceramics, photography and jewelry.

The public is invited to
Opening reception on July 17, 5-9 during Third Friday
August 7, 5-9 during a special First Friday Art Walk where attendees can wander freely down the closed-off Santa Fe Drive, enjoying all manner of art, food and street performers in between gallery stops.
The show is also on view during regular gallery hours as listed.

By moving through shades such as pale sky blue, deep navy, cobalt, indigo, and luminous turquoise, the artists use color to create atmosphere and invite reflection. In relation to July celebrations, the different shades take on an added resonance as the visual language of the U.S., echoing flags, fireworks, and evening sky, the work balances public spectacle with quieter ideas of freedom and belonging.

Work by the following member artists will be on display: Terrel Bailey (landscape photography), Leigh Cabell (landscape painting), Lisa Calzavara (abstracted landscape painting), Connie Christensen (ceramic ware), Macy Dorf (ceramic ware and sculpture), Patricia Finley (abstract painting), James Garnett (ceramic ware), Terise Harrington Phillips (textile wall art), Kris Iltis (abstracted still life and landscape painting), Jon Koenigsberg (abstract painting), Lamecia Landrum (whimsical figures), Michelle Lundquist (still life and abstract painting), Jeannie Paty (figurative painting), Teresa Preston (silversmithing jewelry) and Christine Segal (abstract painting).

Hours are Mondays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays, Noon to 4 p.m., or by appointment. Open extended evening hours for art walks on the First and Third Friday of each month.
